My picture looks dark, will the photos be dark also?

No. When we upload the files to the server we do few, if any, corrections to them. Due to the time needed to do corrections to photos, any adjustments are made after an order is placed. Cropping is usually needed to 'maximize' the photo and then we go about adjusting the image from there. We guarantee our work. (As a general rule, 5x7s will be a portrait style photo - close cropping zeroing in on a single individual)

We saw you taking pictures while we were out riding, how long will it take for our pictures to be online?

Typically it will only be a couple of days after the event. Sometimes we are away from home overnight when we are shooting so it might take a day or so longer. If we have an abnormally large amount of photos to process it naturally takes a little longer.

I've looked at the correct link (date/location) for my picture and didn't see it.

Every once in a while we mess up. Yes, it's hard to believe but it happens. Traffic sometimes gets too busy to frame a perfect shot, a referee steps in the way of the play, or we might just be having a 'moment' and miss your shot. Believe it or not, successfully photographing 55mph motorcycles or full speed running backs without a slip up once in a while is harder than it looks. On occasion, some shots do not meet our standards so we don't display them. We try our hardest to shoot every motorcycle / sports car / long distance cyclist that passes by.

Where are you shooting next?

If you check out the Events page you'll find a calendar of local events that we are planning on attending. (sadly - we sometimes get too busy to update this page) We are based in Morrilton so we usually look at motorcycle events within 1-2 hours ride from there. Find a scenic, curvy road and watch for our logo. After you pass by, if you get to wondering how the picture turned out then turn around and come ask us. We'll shoot it as many times as you care to ride by.

If you're wondering about sports photos, we try to attend as many Morrilton and Conway County based sporting events as our time allows.

For those of you that see us photographing an event: If you want a particular athlete photographed don't hesitate to let us know. We'll be glad to do it. Just let us know which one they are (jersey number, name etc...). We try to get all the action shots of all of the athletes, cheerleaders, band etc.. we can, but special attention is given when requested.

What camera gear do you use?

We shoot the pictures featured in the Gallery with a Canon 30D body and a Canon 28-300 IS L lens. We also use a Canon 10D and a 70-200 Canon L lens. The Canon lens are professional grade lens and they perform likewise. Nothing else we have used comes close to the Canon lens.

As good as they are there have drawbacks. They are too heavy to carry around all day sightseeing (4lbs for the 28-300!!!) and too expensive to be beating around in a saddle bag so we use a Tamron 28-300 for personal use. The Tamron is a good lens for the price, however it is outperformed by the Canon lens which are much more expensive. As a matter of fact, the Tamron was used to take the portfolio photos. Those files have been reduced to around an average size of 250kb for faster viewing.

You charge $7 for a 5x7 picture?

This is the lowest amount we can charge and still be able to continue doing this. When you consider the thousands of dollars in camera gear, the upkeep of the site, the developing costs, the time spent on the computer as well as on the side of the road watching people ride by when we could be riding ourselves - (we love to ride), or standing along the sidelines at sporting events, when we could be home chilling out or doing chores, this is an outstanding buy. This price is very competitive.

Our images are much higher quality than what you're going to get out of your compact digital or your riding buddy's camera, unless your buddy is a professional photographer. These images are suitable for framing anywhere. If you ever visit The Hub, located between Jasper and Harrison you'll see that Randal and and Debbie were kind enough to showcase some of our photos on the walls of Scooter's Resturant. (Stop in there for some great cooking) In case you haven't seen the full size sample, click here. It is a large file so be patient.

Are there any other sizes of prints available?

We do not have packages ready for that but if you send us an email and specify what you would like then we should be able to work something out. We chose 5x7 and 8x10 because of their popularity. We have just added the option of a 4x6 print. Larger sizes are available upon request up to 20x30.

I'm getting an error on a page. (Nobody really asked this but just in case it happens)

Please send us an email telling us about it. This site is relatively new and we have accessed it from many different computers and not found a problem yet but that doesn't mean it isn't happening. Please let us know the page or link that isn't working. (When we do site maintenance it is late at night to avoid problems) Thanks. gordon@motion-pics.com
